Marketing [Head]

Job Title: Marketing (Head)

Areas of Practice: Business generation, client relationship management and strategy development and deployment

Introduction to the role:

Rainmaker T&R is India's foremost solutions provider to the legal industry. We cater to the requirements of the Indian legal industry across its various segments viz., Law Firms, Companies, L.P.O.s, N.G.O.s, Legal Education Sector, etc.

Rainmaker's services are across three verticals:

Talent Management: On this front, Rainmaker aims to connect legal professionals in India with opportunities in the legal industry, worldwide. We cater to requirements across organisational levels and also provide specialised HR consulting solutions to the industry.

Training Solutions: Rainmaker provides training solutions across the spectrum. This includes training solutions (through University collaborations and otherwise) for law students and legal professionals to high-end corporate legal training for legal professionals, with special emphasis on the global legal services industry.

Knowledge Services and Consulting: Rainmaker's intention is to be of value to the industry through the timely contribution of developments in the legal industry, specialised researching and studies, white papers, etc. The organisation intends to develop its knowledge bank to enable the consulting services as well.

Job description: The role functions as the single point gateway for the marketing, branding, and customer relationship management of all areas of the business. It also entails support to the sales functions across all verticals of the business.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that organisational, vertical, and specific products' / services' marketing and branding is accomplished on a continuous basis and in a homogenous fashion (in mutual agreement with all stakeholders.) Handle marketing and visibility requirements from across the organisation. This includes liaising with external vendors for any such requirements.

  2. Handle organisational, vertical and specific products' / services' marketing and branding budgetary spend (in mutual agreement with all stakeholders.) Includes the creation and continuous evaluation of such spend and the related return on investment.

  3. Create, manage and execute the marketing plan for the organisation, verticals, and products / services.

  4. Manage and evolve the branding strategy and approach for the entire Rainmaker business.

  5. Resource hires for and management of the marketing team.

  6. Support sales initiatives across the verticals in the organisation.

  7. Offer support as may be required to any other member of the organisation.

Qualifications Sought:

Mandatory: 3+ years of work experience in the marketing field, with experience in sales and customer relationship management.

Desired: Exposure to brand management, online marketing and sales, CRM software, and education products' marketing.

Skills and Knowledge required:

  1. Capable of understanding the organisation's vision as well as its long-, medium- and short-term goals and translating them within and into the role's deliverables.

  2. Ability to understand the legal industry.

  3. Ability to represent the organisation and independently fashion a dynamic approach to marketing.

  4. Keen understanding of both marketing as well as sales - this includes the ability to spot trends and technologies in the space.

  5. Able to handle external vendors and internal clients.

  6. Able to liaise with all verticals and members of the organisation.

  7. Sound interpersonal skills.

  8. Excellent communication skills.

  9. Ability to be a part of the key group of professionals spearheading the Rainmaker business and looking to be a part of the larger growth story of the company.

Job Summary: Programme development, content creation, and programme delivery, under the supervisions of the Head of Legal Training for trainings and other legal products and with delivery of training including research, writing and networking.

Duties and Responsibilities (modified from DOT by job incumbent and supervisor)

  • Assisting with the creation of training materials on a variety of topics for the legal industry
  • Organising content and training materials
  • Providing training to the legal industry online and live in classroom
  • Applying technology to deliver trainings
  • Working in a team to produce programmes that are satisfactory to the clients
  • Networking, including maintaining working relationships with attorneys and others in the legal industry
  • Performing other related duties as required by the Head of Legal Training and Rainmaker as a whole

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (established by supervisor)

  • Knowledge of legal principles and terminology, and techniques of legal research and writing.
  • Ability and experience in delivering trainings.
  • Knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, minutes, and reports.
  • Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.

Credentials and Experience (established by supervisor)

  • A degree in law from one of the top law schools in the country; candidates with an exceptional academic record from other universities may be considered.
  • Two to three years experience in the legal industry with a top law firm. Candidates with exceptional professional experience from other segments of the industry may be considered.

Special Requirements (established by supervisor) Willingness and ability to learn about new areas of law, keen interest in education and training.

Web Techie [Mumbai] – Rainmaker T&R

Rainmaker T&R:

Summary of requirement: Should be comfortable with technology especially web technology like HTML, Javascript, PHP, etc. and should have a problem solving bent of mind. Should also be able to manage projects and should be able to manage outsourced work including negotiating with vendors over work, time involved and cost. Should have an active interest in new technology and should be able to apply that knowledge to real situations/ needs of the company/business. Should have a keen interest in emerging trends in technology and Internet use, in areas such as social media, networking, and Web 2.0 generally.

Main requirements:

Website maintenance - HTML, basic CSS and Javascript, using web editing programs like Dreamweaver, FTP operation,

Internal tech troubleshooting - helping employees when they have IT bugs, errors or any other tech assistance

Managing data security - firewalls, antiviruses, back ups, and settings up protocols and processes for the same.

Managing domains, official email system - domain name registration, renewal, sub domains creation, email setup, email account creation when required

 

Secondary requirements (important but not mandatory):

Managing IT infrastructure - PCs, laptops, printers and other hardware maintenance to be done or overseen, setup of AMC with third party IT service provider.

Web apps - finding new web apps, development of new web apps when required, modification of existing apps based on business requirements, interacting with third party vendors and managing software development/modification. Knowledge of web programming particularly using PHP or Java would be helpful.

Internships at Rainmaker

We are looking for student interns from a legal, human resource or commerce back ground. The internship will be for a period of at least one (1) month. Requirements for the internship are as follows:

  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills;

  • Good email correspondence and should be comfortable using computer applications;

  • Excellent communications skills;

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities;

  • Capability to work in both a team environment and alone with minimal supervision; and

  • Good marketing skills and willingness to travel within city limits for marketing
