In 2010, Rainmaker was mandated by the Bar Council of India (India's regulatory body for the legal profession) to create and conduct India's first bar examination for advocates looking to practice in the legal profession. Rainmaker conceptualized and administered the All India Bar Examination for over 50,000 candidates in 29 cities across India.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Write, co-ordinate, edit, and produce on a daily basis, short-form and long-form writing, video, and audio that documents and provides analysis of the development of law and changes in the legal profession.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plan articles, videos, and audio podcasts in co-ordination with the editorial team, and execute them by liasing with experts on different areas of the law.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Should be able to appreciate the audience of myLaw.net. A strong understanding of current legal scholarship and the ability to write in crisp and plain English are essential. Knowledge of Hindi will also be appreciated. We prefer polymaths and people with experience in post-production of video.

JOB SUMMARY

To assist with research, strategic planning, writing, and delivery of educational training programmes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSiBILITIES

- Assisting with the creation of educational materials on a variety of topics for the legal profession
- Organising content and training materials
- Providing educational training programmes to various sections of the legal profession online using e-learning strategies and tools, and also in classrooms
- Applying technology to deliver trainings
- Working in a team to create and deliver programmes that are satisfactory to client requirements
- Performing other related duties as required by the Head of Education Services, and Rainmaker as a whole

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Knowledge of legal principles and terminology, and techniques of legal research and writing
- Excellent language skills
- Ability and experience in delivering training
- Knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda minutes and reports

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE

- A graduate degree in law. A Master's or higher qualification in law or other areas would be a definite advantage
- Two-to-three years' experience; preferably, with at least some of that experience at a law firm, in litigation, or other forms of practice

Full-time employee of Rainmaker who conceptualises and executes design for accurate and high quality content, which will be published in high volumes under short deadlines. Analyse current design and recommend improvements.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Interest in branding, web design, designing for mobile devices, and e-learning.
- Interest in data visualisation.
- Working knowledge of HTML, XML, JSP
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player - the team at Rainmaker is small, fun loving, dedicated and works very closely within and among departments.
